CommentsOne Of The Last New 2011 Lotus Elise SC In The United States – At Lotus of Plano
Lotus of Plano has one of the last, new 2011 Lotus Elise SC in the U.S. This fiery red rocket has a 218 hp, 1.8 liter supercharged 4-cylinder engine. On a car that weights less then 2,000 pounds, that translates into 0-60 mph in about 4.6 seconds. We could go on an on about leather bucket seats and removable hard/soft tops, but you really only need to get behind the wheel to fall in love with this graceful head-turner.

Park Place Dealerships Opens Lotus of Plano
When the new Lotus of Plano dealership made its debut recently, Park Place Dealerships converted the glass showroom on Plano Parkway into the ultimate man cave. DJ Andre set the mood with Rat Pack favorites. And Park Place made a $2500 donation to Dallas Moustache, a local non-profit that raises awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancers.
“Lotus is a very sporty brand with a proud racing heritage,” said Rob Sumner, marketing director, Park Place Dealerships. “We wanted to create an environment that represented the spirit of the edgy, high-performance sports car while appealing to the sophistication of our guests. And, of course, our clients know when they buy any vehicle from Park Place, they receive the ultimate in service and client experience.”
Lotus cars are born on the track, designed for the streets and built around the driver. Lotus offers three models: the tactile Elise, the track-inspired Exige and the practical Evora. The Elise SC is the ultimate evolution of a pure-bred sports car with a new supercharged, 1.8 litre, 218 HP, 16 valve, 4-cylinder engine, delivering instant acceleration and even torque accessible from low in the rev range. Weighing only 2,000 pounds, the Exige S sports a supercharged 1.8 litre, 257 HP, mid-mounted 16 valve, 4-cylinder engine, combining the best of raw performance and civilized handling. The Evora 2+2 brings comfort and performance to a daily driver with adjustable, leather trimmed sports seats and a practical 2+2 rear seat.

Carl Jackson, Sales & Marketing, Lotus Cars USA; Jordan Case, President, Lotus of Plano; and Stephen James, General Manager, Lotus of Plano, with the Lotus Elise SC.
Park Place and Brown Forman invited six area mixologists to create their version of the perfect Manhattan using Woodford Reserve bourbon. Austin Bird, mixologist at The Usual, created The County Line; Sean Connor – The Whiskey Cake Cocktail; Chris Dempsey – Winter in Manhattan; Brad Hensarling of Campo Modern Country Bistro – a Montpelier Manhattan; Scott Melton of The Gin Mill – The Five Points Manhattan; and Kyle Paris –of Jaspers Restaurant at the Shops @ Legacy – the Maple Dram-hattan. Kyle Paris was the people’s choice, with Chris Dempsey coming in second and Brad Hensarling third.
Naturally, the food choices complemented the caliber of the drinks with tantalizing fare such as ceviche marinated with a touch of Woodford Reserve and oso bucco quail legs served atop plantain mash and a Woodford Reserve chipotle pomegranate glaze from Agave Azul; Kobe beef sliders and grilled chicken skewers served with a spicy peanut sauce by III Forks Steakhouse; and smoked scallop mousse éclair with lobster and shrimp bisque by Tony Gardizi. Honey Girl Kitchen provided sweet temptations, including petite double chocolate bites and organic zest petite lemon bars.
Dapper Magazine transformed the dealership’s service drive into a Cigar Den with premium cigars, hand-rolled on-site by House of Cigars, and special tastings of Woodford Reserve. Brown-Forman Spirits also provided Chambord Vodka, Finlandia Vodka, Herradura Tequila, and Sonoma Cutrer Wines.
Mike Kellis-Murphy of Frisco won an Agave Azul Tequila dinner for 10, including a three-course meal paired with
tequilas, and a Lotus gift bag. Albert Plunkett of Allen won a Woodford Reserve Bourbon Tasting for 10 and a golf bag.

Park Place Brands Featured As Luxury and Quality At Great Value on MSN
At Park Place Dealerships – we represent the finest the automotive industry has to offer. Our brands could all be considered ‘luxury’, but vary greatly from the super-safe and practical Volvo line, the the uber-luxurious vehicles in the Park Place Premier Collection – such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Maserati – to performance super cars from Porsche and more recently, McLaren.
MSN recently did a feature article on Exotic and luxury vehicles and compared them to a more realistic, but still luxury, alternative. With a format of “dream” versus “consider”, Park Place brands showed up on both sides of the curve. It was of the McLaren MP4-12c and the Mercedes-Benz SLS that were referred do as ‘dream’ cars.
Of our brands – it was Jaguar, Lotus and Mercedes-Benz who shone brightest of our brands as a great value, but top quality in performance and luxury in this article. Among them the 2012 Jaguar XK, the 2011 Lotus Exige the 2011 Lotus Evora and the Mercedes-Benz SLK-class.

Lotus Offers Exclusive Freddie Mercury Evora S For Charity
September 5th will see the Savoy Hotel play host to a very special celebration, the 65th birthday of THE HERO, the late, great Freddie Mercury.
DEAR FRIENDS of Freddie will unite in GOOD COMPANY at Freddie’s FLASH birthday bash which is set to be ‘a unique night of comedy and rock and roll’ as the climax to this year’s Freddie For A Day. The highlight of the night will be an auction to raise funds for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the HIV AIDS charity set-up in his honour by band mates Brian May, Roger Taylor and Queen manager Jim Beach after the singer’s death in 1991.
Forget a BICYCLE RACE, on this special occasion FAT BOTTOMED CARS (forgive us Freddie) is what it’s all about as the bespoke Lotus Evora S headlines the auction alongside fantastic donations from Brian May and Roger Taylor, Top Gear, Raymond Weil, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the West End stage hit ‘WE WILL ROCK YOU’.
The pearl white MADE IN HEAVEN Evora S with Freddie Mercury inspired theme represents A KIND OF MAGIC combination from the Lotus Design team: the power and prowess of the critically acclaimed Lotus with the dramatic styling befitting of a British rock legend. Featuring deep red and gold highlights this Evora S is well deserving of Freddie’s autograph which is also included in the scheme.
The exterior BODY LANGUAGE features a white, red and gold colour scheme inspired by the iconic costume Freddie wore for the 1986 “Magic tour” and features beautiful silver on white iconography. The front fender references the Montreux Freddie memorial statue with the line “Lover of life. Singer of songs” taken from the statue’s inscription.
Inside, the one-off yellow interior, also inspired by Freddie’s 1986 stage costume, includes a union flag on the back of the seats and the incorporation of a crown hints at Freddie’s playful royal role-play. And it goes without saying that the sound system or more specifically the RADIO, will send the lucky owner GA GA.
Brian May had these words to say of Lotus’ participation: “Our friends at Lotus have donated a stunning Evora S for our auction which I know will be a massive fund-raiser for the Mercury Phoenix Trust. We cannot thank them enough for their generous support on what is a very special occasion for everyone who knew and loved Freddie.”
Group Lotus Director of Corporate Operations Gino Rosato said: “We were only too happy to contribute to this fantastic cause. We have created something very special to raise money for Mercury Phoenix Trust and we hope the car goes to a collector who really enjoys it.”
Although the auctioneer’s final hammer will not fall until late into the night of September 5th, eager buyers don’t have to leave it in the lap of the gods, they can get their offers in well beforehand at: www.freddieforaday.com/auction
